Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one session and without the need to switch between devices. They also can save space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its low cost, and it's among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you could decide to let the robot clean up the living and kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are also excellent and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only drawback is that it tends to hit objects and walls at a high speed, but a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs the maintenance tasks that must be completed like emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood although we would have liked to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop is the most up-to-date version. This year's model has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. robot cleaner has an improved suction capacity that allows it to pick up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It can then change its course automatically and clean them without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tried, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is attractive and it has just three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.
The only drawback I could find with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power, and advanced mopping capabilities. Its smart design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the most effective alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry mess. It also comes with a high-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another noteworthy feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brushes, that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture, such as tables and chairs' legs. The robot is also able to reach under furniture with low profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that allows the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through repeated back-and-forth movements.
In contrast to other robots that are restricted to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.
The app is simple and user-friendly, and the X40's smart features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and has numerous features which make it a good choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you when it overflows, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has a number of features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it comes with an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and smaller dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.
Its mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is a fantastic feature because it prevents the growth of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.
There are a lot of options, including the option to schedule cleanings and change preferences. They can be set through the app or buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options to customize the cleaning process, and there are a lot of functions that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of using the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this list but it's not a lot of weight. It is solid and well-built. Mopping is well designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
